‘The General Principles of Astrology’ by Aleister Crowley : New hardcover : $58 http://bit.ly/b3qj0Y

It is a beautiful book. This first full-scale reconstruction of his essential text has waited 85 years to appear as he originally intended it.

Long before there was Linda Goodman, long before astrology bestsellers turned up in supermarkets, there was Aleister Crowley, the most important astrological scholar and authority of the early 20th century. Ghostwriting for Evangeline Adams, it was Crowley who wrote the vast majority of her classic textbooks, Astrology: Your Place in the Sun (1927) and Astrology: Your Place Among the Stars (1930). General Principles of Astrology finally acknowledges Crowley’s authorship.

Crowley’s goal was to abandon traditional assumptions, so he based his findings on actual charts and how they were expressed in people’s lives. In his characteristically clear and elegant prose, Crowley discusses each planet from a scientific and mythological point of view. He provides an exhaustive analysis of astrological types, drawing conclusions for over 180 astrological nativities of well-known artists, poets, musicians, philosophers, politicians, and business leaders from the 18th to the 20th century.

This new book is composed of painstakingly gathered work, primarily ghostwritten by Crowley, and published in various early twentieth-century texts. It is published here in one volume for the first time, in an undertaking endorsed by both the Adams and Crowley estates.

Crowley described AHA! as “An exposition in poetic language of the ways of attainment and the results obtained.” This profoundly esoteric work particularly highlights the two central experiences of the Path, the Knowledge and Conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel and the Crossing of the Abyss. It also marks Crowley’s final acceptance of the mysteries and teachings of The Book of the Law .

This new edition features a previously unpublished and invaluable Commentary by Frater Achad, one of Crowley’s most important early students, which indicates a method by which the mystic depths of AHA! may be further explored. It includes an elaborate Commentary by Israel Regardie, a primary Crowley biographer and spokesman. An Afterword by Crowley scholar James Wasserman places the work within the context of Crowley’s overall life and teaching.

The Vision and The Voice $50

The Vision and the Voice by Aleister Crowley

The Vision and the Voice starts at about $50

The Vision and the Voice starts at about $50.

The Vision and the Voice (Liber 418) chronicles the mystical journey of Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) as he explored the 30 Enochian ?thyrs originally developed by Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelley in the 16th century. These visions took place at two times: in 1900 during his stay in Mexico, and later in 1909 in Algeria (along with his magical companion, Victor Neuburg). Of all his works, Crowley considered this book to be second in importance behind The Book of the Law, the text that established his religious and philosophical system of Thelema in 1904.

The Vision and the Voice is the source of many of the central spiritual doctrines of Thelema, especially in the visions of Babalon and her consort Chaos (the “All-Father”), as well as an account of how an individual ego might cross the Abyss, thereby assuming the title of “Master of the Temple” and taking a place in the City of the Pyramids under the Night of Pan.

Aleister Crowley and the Practice of the Magical Diary: $7.50

This important collection includes Aleister Crowley’s two most important instructional writings on the design and purpose of the magical diary, John St. John and A Master of the Temple. These were the only two works regarding the magical diary published in Crowley’s lifetime. More…

Both were first published in Crowley’s immense collection of magical instruction, The Equinox. John St. John chronicles Crowley’s moment-by-moment progress during a 13-day magical working. Crowley referred to it as a perfect model of what a magical record should be. A Master of the Temple is taken from the magical diary of Frater Achad at a time when he was Crowley’s most valued and successful student. It provides an invaluable example of a student’s record, plus direct commentary and instruction added by Crowley.

With commentary and introductory material by editor James Wasserman, Aleister Crowley and the Practice of the Magical Diary is the most important and accessible instruction available to students of the occult regarding the practice of keeping a magical diary.

This revised edition includes a new introduction by Wasserman, a foreword by noted occult scholar J. Daniel Gunther, revisions throughout the text, a revised reading list for further study, plus Crowley’s instructions on banishing from Liber O.
